| Station 77 was dispatched on the first alarm assingment with Stations 54, 51 and 66 for a reported building fire at the Western Center for Studies at 77 Graterford Rd in Limerick Twp at about 2332 hours.
Police arrived on scene quickly and reported a fully involved garage fire with several vehicles and equipment inside.
Ladder 77 responded with a crew of 6 and was the second fire truck on location and was instructed to set up a master water stream on the D/A (east) side of the garage. The garage was about 100 x 50 and was fully involved with several minor explosions from the vehicles inside. E77 arrived for manpower.
Water supply to Ladder 77 was delayed due to NON WORKING hydrants on the school property. A 5 inch supply line was laid by SD54 and supplied from another hydrant by Tanker 66. Ladder 77 flowed over 47 thousand gallons a water from their ladder pipe.
Units remained on location for over 3.5 hours conducting overhaul and fire suspression. Twp. Fire Marshall on location for investigation. |
