Ladder 77 was dispatched on the 2nd Alarm to a working house fire in Lower Frederick. Upon arrival to the scene, the crew saw heavy smoke and fire from the roof and exposed side C of the house. Incident command, led by Fire Marshal 73, directed Ladder 77 crews to the front of the house to relieve the crew working the interior attack of the fire. Chief 77 was called upon to oversee the operations of the fire ground.

Ladder 77 and Engine 86 (Skippack) crews, led by CPT77 made entry through the front of the house and took over on the hose line and interior ventilation. The interior crews found many "hot spots" as they pulled the ceilings down and opened up walls. After pulling down the ceiling in the main living area of the home they discovered heavy fire rolling across the attic. Fire was also located in the walls between the kitchen and bathroom. Efforts to extinguish the fire were made all through out the home. A crew from Ladder 77 was then sent down to basement to check for extension. They found heavy smoke and heat, but charring was limited.

Incident Command did an excellent job of keeping interior and exterior crews communicating and working together. Thankfully no one was injured during the incident. Unfortunately the fire has left the home uninhabitable.
