One Car Crash Closes Main Street

Station 77 and 324 were dispatched to the 1600 block of Main St (Ridge Pike) in the Trappe section of Upper Providence Twp. for a one car crash into an electric pole with injuries.

Units arrived to find that a car traveling westbound hit a pole and shattered the entire pole letting live electric wires hang low. Fire Police from Trappe, Perkiomen & Collegeville closed Ridge Pike in both directions for about an hour, then controlled traffic at the scene for an additional 2 hours.

Fire units assisted EMS and made the vehilce safe of hazards. PECO arrived quickly and called for additional PECO trucks. EMS transported the driver to Reading Trauma Center.
