Hurricane Sandy Information for Trappe area Residents

By Trappe Fire & EMS
October 27, 2012

We at Trappe Fire Co. would ask all residents to make sure you are prepared for the pending storm and the related matters, like power outages, no water, no lights that come along with a storm of this nature.

Trappe Fire Co Volunteers will be manning our station during peak storm times and will be available to assist the public in emergency and some non emergency incidents. However you must be prepared yourselves by stocking up on water and food that can be eaten with out electric. Please make sure you have enough medications and medical prescriptions needed for your conditions.

Remember to be safe during these times and NOT use gasoline or propane equipment inside your house. The exhaust from a gasoline engine or propane grill inside a house can kill with Carbon Monoxide gas which is odorless and colorless.

If you must use candles for light during power outages, DO NOT use them near any other flammable materials.

Make sure you have all your cell phones charged before the power goes out and also check your flashlights for working batteries.
