Engine 77 was dispatched at 1620 hours to assist Station 34 with a helicopter landing at Collegeville Park after a serious motorcycle accident had taken place at 305 Second Ave in the borough. After the helicopter landed and took off safely, all 77 units cleared at 1700 hours.


While units were returning, a box alarm was pre alerted for a house fire at 71 Rahns Road in Perkiomen Twp. at 1701 hours

Engine 77 responded with a crew of 5, and arrived within 4 minutes. Chief 66 and Chief 34 were already on location reporting a working fire, Chief 66 took Command.
Engine 77 crew pulled a 1 3/4 hand line and went into service to extinguish the kitchen fire. They were successful in knocking down and putting out the kitchen fire.
Ladder 77 responded and arrived going into service with ground ladders, horizontal ventilation and the main ladder to the roof. Ladder 77 crews then went to the C side and used a 35 foot ground ladder to the flat roof and opened up several ventilation holes.
During the roof operations, the 77 truck crew was able to find extension in the bedroom ceilings. Interior crews then used additional hand lines to put our the remainder of the fire.

Station 77 was released by 66 command at 1925 ours and returned to station to repack hose, and clean all our equipment for the next call.
