Station 77 was busy over the 24 hours from Tuesday night into Wednesday with a total of Six (6) calls for service.

Station 77 and E34 were dispatched to W. Main St and First Ave at 2106 hours on Tuesday night for a minor traffic accident with injuries and fluid leaking. E77 arrived and controlled the leaking fluids and the one driver refused EMS. Fire Police controlled traffic on W. Main St.

Ladder 77 and Engine 77 were then dispatched at 0305 hours on Wednesday morning to assist Limerick Fire Co with a reported house fire at 135 Swamp Pike. The caller reported a chimney fire with smoke in the house and alarms sounding. 77 units arrived and upon investigation it was found that the smoke was from clothing that had burned because it was too close to the coal stove. The house was vented with fans to clear the smoke and all units returned.

Station 77 and E34 were then dispatched at 0925 hours to 775 W. Main St for a "strange odor" outside of a music school. The caller reported an odor but it was not gas or something burning. E34 and AC77 arrived to find that the smell was from a local farmer spreading manure on a farm field. All units cleared shortly thereafter.

At the same time Ladder 77 was dispatched at 0935 hours to respond to Saint Mary's Catholic School to assist Station 52 with a fire alarm. This was found to be a false alarm and Ladder 77 was recalled.

Station 77 was dispatched at 1350 hours to assist Station 34 with a fire alarm at Sears Hardware. DC34 arrived to find workers working on the system and it had not been put on test, and all units were recalled.

The sixth and final call of the day was a working house fire at 1079 S. Lewis Road in the Trappe section of Upper Providence Twp. Stations 77 and 34 with E66 were dispatched to a reported fire in a back room of a house. FM-68-2 arrived to confirm heavy smoke inside the house and fire in the walls from a wood stove. This added Rescue 86 as the FAST team, Rescue 98 as Cascade and EMS to the confirmed fire.

Interior crew used an 1-3/4 inch hose line to knock down the fire. Hidden void space made for extensive overhaul.

Crews remained on scene for just over 3 hours until all fire was extinguished and the house had been secured and turned back over to the owner. The occupents of the house were unable to live at the house due to the damages.

This was a long call to end one of one of our busiest days so far.
