Stations 66, 34, 77, 53, and 86 were dispatched at 10:38 to a Building Fire at 105 Clement Dr in Perkiomen Twp.

Caller reported heavy smoke in the building and stated cardboard boxes in the oven were on fire. BC 66 arrived to confirm a working fire and went into command. Ladder 77 responded and arrived to place ground ladders to the C side of the building and used the main ladder to the roof for ventilation. E66 and E34 worked on pulling a 5 inch line and water supply to extinguish the fire. CMMD 66 requested an additional FAST team and standbys to cover the area. E77 also responded to assist Ladder 77 with manpower.

The fire was under control in 40 minutes but extensive overhaul and decon have to be in place. A substance called Cardina was used in the building which created a hazmat situation for the firefighters. Standbys were called into the scene to assist. All firefighters were deaconed after the incident. 5 EMS units were on scene, 3 from 324, 1 from 308 and another from 325 all assisted with rehab and treating firefighters. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a head injury. Ladder 77 remained on scene until 13:35.

Thanks for the Standbys and EMS 308 for covering 324.
