Stations 77 and 34 were dispatched to a dwelling fire at 503 Tawnyberry Lane in the Trappe section of Upper Providence Township at 04:10 for a report of "fire from the roof". Upper Providence Police arrived at 04:16 and reported a confirmed fire. This added Engine 99-1, Ladder 98, Rescue 86 (RIT) and Medic 324.

Chief 77 arrived at 04:20 with fire through the roof and all occupants confirmed out of the residence. Chief 77 assumed Tawnyberry Command.
At 04:24, Command requested the 2nd alarm and this added, Engine 66 Engine 98, Engine 99, Tower 99, Engine & Ladder 54 and Rescue 98 (Cascade). Two additional Engines were requested at 04:43 for additional manpower.

Medic 324 responded with two ALS units along with Medic 325. Pottstown Goodwill (Station 329) was requested with a heated tent to keep the Firefighters warm along with North Penn Canteen (Station 41) for food and shelter units.

Crews knocked down the fire and made an interior attack once additional units arrived. Crews made good progress on the fire but decided to back out due to structural and safety concerns. Ladder 77's master stream was then used to knock down most of the fire. Once the fire was knocked down crews completed additional overhaul to extinguish the dwelling along with additional fire located in the basement.

The fire was placed under control at 05:29 and crews remained on scene until about 08:30 making sure all hot spots were extinguished.

Units standing by in the area for any additional calls included Engine 52 and Quint 53. Upper Providence Township Public Works also assisted by bringing salt for icy road conditions.

Please keep the homeowners in your thoughts and prayers due to this loss during the holiday season. Thankfully everyone got out safely!
