Three Calls for the Day, Including a Confirmed House Fire

Station 34, 77, E66 and QT53 were dispatched to the 200 block of Lloyd Ave for a report of a house on fire at 15:22 hours with smoke in the attic.

Collegeville Police arrived quickly and confirmed smoke showing and this added SD86 (RIT), Air 66 and special call UPT E93.

Ladder 77 responded with a full crew of 6 firefighters. Ladder 77 was instructed to enter the driveway of the house and ladder the roof for vertical ventilation. Other members assisted with throwing ground ladders around the house and tools and equipment.

Once the interior crew located the fire in the attic and started flowing water, Ladder 77 crew cut a hole for ventilation.

Trappe Fire Co. EMS was on scene with two ambulances and a rehab unit. No injuries were reported to fire crews or residents.

Crews remained on location for several more hours while overhaul and the investigation took place.

Shortly after returning, Engine 77 responded to a reort of smoke from a house in Perkiomen Twp. which turned out to be from steam.

Station 77 started off the day early with a fire alarm at a commercial office building in Collegeville, which turned out to be a false alarm.
