Limerick Fire Department (51) and Trappe Fire Department (77) were dispatched to 19 W Linfield Trappe Rd at the Spring Valley YMCA, Limerick Township for a Building Fire. Both departments were alerted to flames coming from the ceiling in the fitness room and occupants were evacuated the building. Chief 51 arrived and found a light fixture to be on fire and extensive smoke condition inside. Employees on scene were using dry chemical fire extinguishers to put the fire out.

Ladder 77 responded with a crew of 5 and arrived to assist with ventilation. The fire was knocked down prior to fire apparatus on scene. Crews went in service with placing multiple PPV (ventilation) fans in the YMCA to remove smoke from the building. Ladder 77 and Fire Police remained on scene until 1224 hours. Limerick Township Fire Marshals are investigating the fire.
