At 01:12 EDT, Station 77 and Engine 98 were dispatched to a fire alarm at Christ Church of the Valley located at 1560 Yeager Road in Upper Providence Township.

Ladder 77 and Engine 77 responded along with Engine 98. Crews were notified of a smoke detector activation in the elevator machine room located in the B building. Upon investigating the fire alarm, crews found smoke inside the building in the proximity of the elevator machine room.

Deputy 77 requested an upgrade to the commercial building fire and established Yeager Road Command. A 360 degree recon lap was completed with negative findings. Engine 98 was positioned at a hydrant and secured its own water supply.

Engine 99, Tower 99, Engine 53 and Engine 34 responded to assist.

Interior crews located an overheated motor for the submersible pump in the hydraulic fluid reservoir. Crews on scene secured the power to the elevator and utilized multiple PPV fans to ventilate the smoke from the building.

The incident was placed under control at 01:43 hours. Ventilation was completed at 02:06 hours and all units were clear at 02:15 hours.
