| Stations 86, 66 and Ladder 77 were dispatched to a chimney fire in the area of Skippack Pike and Cross Road. The correct location was found in the 4400 block of Skippack Pike. Ladder 77 arrived and was placed in front of house, however due to power lines the main ladder was not able to be used. The Engine crew from station 66 already had their 35 foot ground ladder in service to the roof and that was followed up with 3 roof ladders on the slippery slate roof, which was made worse in the rain. Roof crews then took turns cleaning out the chimney with a set of chains. The exterior roof & chimney were checked with the TIC and found no source of heat. After working with the chains for several times the chimney was cleared and crews started to clean up and made themselves available. |
