Firefighters from Trappe Fire Company No. 1 responded about 6:00 pm last night to the report of smoke coming from the roof of a residence on Harvard Drive in the College Woods community in Trappe Borough. Crews from Trappe Fire Company, UPT Fire & Emergency Services and Perkiomen Township Fire Company made initial entry, conducted search and rescue, and advanced a hoseline to the 3rd floor to extinguish the fire. Crew members from TFC Engine 77 went to the roof and did ventilation. The TFC Ladder 77 crew also found and rescued a large dog in his cage. Collegeville Fire Company, Skippack Fire Company, and Skippack Emergency Medical Services also assisted at the scene.

Following emergency response at the scene, TFC members noted the significance of the "last call" and the retiring call number for Station 77. Today, TFC officially entered into an operational partnership with Upper Providence Township Fire & Emergency Services (Station 68) and Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company (Station 68-B)... Trappe Fire Company will now be recognized by the Montgomery County 911 Call Center as Station 68-C.
