Smoke Detector saves family from house fire at 0230 AM in Upper Providence Twp.

At 0234 hours, fire departments from Upper Providence Township ( Station 68), Lower Providence ( Station 53) Collegeville (Station 34) Royersford ( Station 98) Phoenixville ( Chester Station 65) and Kimberton ( Chester Station 61) were dispatched to a house fire on the 100 block on Summit Lane, Upper Providence Township.

Upper Providence Township police arrived on scene within minuets and found the side of the house on fire. A working fire dispatched was struck and brought Skippack and Limerick Fire Company along with Medic 325.

Engine 68 arrived on scene as the first due engine and provided fire suppression. Engine 68-1 arrived as the second due engine and provided a water supply.

Ladder 68-2 ( Trappe Fire Company) responded with a crew of four and were tasked to the roof. While coordinating with fire suppression, Ladder 68-2 provided ventilation and overhaul on the exterior of the house on the D side. Trappe Fire Police assisted with closing Hollow Road down for 3 hours.

The fire was placed under control around 0300 hours. No injuries were reported on scene and all occupants were out of the house.
