For the last two years Upper Providence Township, Trappe Borough, the Upper Providence
Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), Black Rock Fire Company, and Trappe
Fire Company have been working toward developing a joint partnership for fire services.

In March, the Upper Providence Board of Supervisors decided not to continue to pursue the fire
service consolidation with Trappe Borough and Trappe Fire Company. As a result, Trappe Fire
Company will be reverting back to “Station 77” and operating as an independent fire company.
There will be no changes or interruption to the fire service in Upper Providence Township or
Trappe Borough. Trappe Fire Company will still continue to respond to all the calls and areas in
Upper Providence and Trappe that they have been.

Trappe Fire Company will change back to Station 77 this week on Wednesday, May 14 th . Trappe
remains a 100% volunteer fire company serving the community. They will continue to work well
with DFES and assist neighboring fire companies in providing high quality fire service in the
area.
