Trappe Fire Company along with numerous mutual aid departments were dispatched to the 600 block of Muhlenberg Drive in Trappe Borough around 0204 hours for a residential house fire.

Multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting the fire added the Working Fire dispatch at 0208 hours.
AC77 arrived at 0211 hours and reported heavy fire showing from a 3 story townhouse style condo building with a total of 8 units attached. AC77 immediately requested the 2nd alarm.

Crews used hose lines and master streams to knock down the fire before entering. Other crews went door to door and made sure all occupants of the 8 units had gotten out safely. During the evacuation, 2 dogs got loose and ran away. Luckily they were found hours later and returned to their owners.

Crews fought the fire and it was brought under control at 0415hours. Firefighters remained on the scene until 0800 hours to cool down and put out hot spots.

There were NO injuries to any residents or firefighters during this incident.

The fire investigation is being handled by the Regional Fire Investigation Task Force. At this time they are activity investigating the cause.

Trappe Fire Co would like to thank all of the neighbors and Trappe residents that offered coffee, food and shelter to the residents involved and the volunteer firefighters. We appreciate it greatly.
