| Station 77 and Squad 68 were dispatched to 1600 Main Street, Children of American Daycare for a fire alarm at 0921 hours. Squad 68 went responding and received notes of a pull station along with a smoke detector in class room 1. Montgomery County dispatch then advised Squad 68 and informed them the daycare director was on scene and related there is a small fire in the bathroom. The assignment was upgraded to a building fire. DC 51 arrived on scene and assumed command giving a 360 report. DC 51 informed county that a fire in the bathroom was located at the C/D corner. A hydrant was located on Greenwood Ave . Ladder 77 responded with a crew of 3 and arrived on scene as the first due ladder. Squad 68 arrived and assumed first due engine pulling a handline to the C/D corner. Ladder 77 was positioned behind Squad 68 were the main aerial was placed in service to the roof. Ladder 77' s crew was tasked to complete a search. Ladder 77 searched the entire first floor and completed the search with no victims. Ladder 77's crew was tasked then to assist with ventilation in support with fire attack. The fire was knocked down with a water can and checking for extension. Once the fire was placed under control, the assignment was held to Ladder 77 and Squad 68. Once the smoke was removed from the building, Ladder 77 was released by command. All 77 units were clear at 1018 hours. |
