Q. Why should I become a subscriber?
Your subscription helps to ensure that Trappe Ambulance continues to meet the ever-growing community’s needs for emergency services. As a non-profit company, a significant portion of our operating budget is supported by your subscription. We hope you never need us but we are trained and ready when and if you do.
Q. What is COVERED by my subscription?
Once your insurance benefits are exhausted, your subscription will help to off-set out of pocket expenses such as, coinsurance and copayments for covered services that are required by your health insurance carriers’ guidelines.
Q. What is NOT COVERED by my subscription?
*Deductibles - a deductible is the amount you pay for health care services before your health insurance begins to pay which are federally mandated.
*Not Medically Necessary Transports - a patient who does not require medical treatment in an ambulance and could find other means of transportation are considered not medically necessary per health insurance carrier guidelines. You will be responsible for payment of this type of service.
*Treatment, No Transport - If treatment is rendered but transport to a hospital is refused. You will be responsible for payment of this type of service.
*Uninsured Individuals - the membership program IS NOT an insurance plan. It is only an insurance supplemental program. If you have NO INSURANCE you will be responsible for payment.
Q. What is Third Party Billing?
You are considered the first party. Trappe Ambulance, the healthcare provider is the second party. Your insurance company is the third party. Most healthcare providers receive reimbursement for their services through third party billing. The amount paid varies and depends on the type of insurance policy the patient carries.
Q. What should I do if my insurance company sends me a check for payment of services provided by Trappe Ambulance?
If the insurance company happens to send you a full or partial payment for EMS services, forward directly to Trappe Ambulance so that it can be applied to your bill. In the event that partial payment is received please contact our office so that we can assist you in reprocessing your claim.
Q. Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. As a non-profit 501(c) 3 charitable organization all of your donations are tax deductible.
