A Letter From The Deputy Fire Chief
Dear Neighbors,
Welcome to the website of the Trappe Fire Company. I hope you find it a valuable tool to learn more about our operations and our volunteers.
Many of you have moved into our fire district, and others just pass through on our roads and highways. It always amazes people to learn that our fire department is 100% volunteer!
Volunteers have been at the heart of America's fire service since the days of Ben Franklin and since the first residents of Trappe begun to discuss the dangers of fire in the late 1800's. In 1911 the Trappe Fire Company was chartered by neighbors just like you.
We may be volunteer but professional is the attitude of the men and women that serve you on a daily basis protecting your house, family, and/or business. As volunteers, we share a spirit of dedication and professionalism that lead to providing the best possible customer service possible.
Each day I'm proud of our volunteers who come from their homes, families, and/or jobs to willingly give their time to respond to emergencies and train to ensure that we are prepared to serve you whenever you call upon us for help.
The Trappe Fire Company maintains a fleet of apparatus and safety equipment that make our volunteers among the best equipped firefighters anywhere in America. We have worked hard throughout our history to ensure that we have the latest gear and the safest equipment for our volunteers! The pictures on this website are testimony to that investment. Our state of the art equipment and apparatus also ensure that we are as prepared as possible to save lives and property in the greater Perkiomen Valley, or where ever we are called to respond.
None of this would be possible without the support and generosity of the community which has supported us with financial contributions and in-kind donations throughout our history. As our community grows, the demand for emergency calls continues to increase and so too will our need for financial support. We respond to each call knowing that we are so lucky to have a strong community standing behind us. This is not our fire company, it is the community's fire company, and we never forget that.
