NEW FIRE STATION
STEERING COMMITTEE ESTABLISHED
in January 2020
On January 11th, 2020, Trappe Fire Company organized a steering committee to work diligently with Trappe Borough Council to pursue financing options and construction feasibility of a new fire station 77 to be built at 20 West 5th Avenue.

Trappe Borough implemented a 0.5 mil fire tax in 2021 in order to begin to support funding Fire Department capital expenses.
Examples of such expenses include:
- Fire Station
- Fire Apparatus (IE: Ladder Truck / Fire Engine)
- Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
- Portable / Mobile Radios
- **It is important to note that the fire tax will not provide income for the Fire Department's annual operating budget.** Our annual operating budget is funded solely by additional municipal donations, our yearly donation drive, and limited fundraising efforts. As you can imagine, with the stringent training requirements we maintain, in addition to emergency responses, it is extremely difficult to allot time out of our schedule to raise our own money for operating costs for a service that we provide for free.
