Stations 55, 63, 34 and 77 were dispatched to 509 Mennonite Road at 1918 hours for a reported gas line on fire. Several calls reported fire on the side of the house. AC77 was on scene within 3 minutes and confirmed a working fire on the A/B corner first floor. Engine to lay in and ladder to the roof.
Engine 34 and Ladder 77 arrived first and went to work and found that this fire was both electricial and gas feed. PECO requested ASAP to respond. Exterior crews had to stay away from the area since live electricial power was arching and a small explosion took place.
Engine 63 arrived and supplied Engine 34 while Ladder 77 opened up the roof. Crews had to stand by while waiting for PECO, but fire was knocked down. Fire was placed under control at 2030 hours.
EMS units on scene for stand by and rehab.
Fire units started picking up at 2123 hours and FM remaind on scene for investigation.
