In March of this year, flyers went out to all EMS providers in the State of PA calling for nominations for EMT, Paramedic and EMS Physician of the Year to name a few of the categories. It required a paragraph or two on why you are nominating an individual or organization and background on their qualifications within the EMS field. I nominated Dr. Dave Neubert. This was an easy choice since all that he does involves supporting & training EMS personnel and it came as no surprise that he won 2009 EMS Physician of the Year. Dr. Dave's extensive resume as Trappe Fire and Ambulance's Medical Director, Reading Hospital Trauma Doctor and pioneer of Tac-Med, LLC built to address the changing environment of tactical field treatment to name a few, put him into a category all his own. Scott Mickalonis, Dr. Dave and I attended the awards luncheon on August 14th, 2009 where he was given this distinguished award by Janette Kearney, Executive Director of PEHSC and Joe Schmider, State of PA EMS Director.
