Several employees and friends of Trappe Fire Co. and Limerick Fire Co. participated in the 2011 Broad Street 10 Mile Race on Sunday. Mike Roberts piloted the idea back in November of 2010 and gathered six other employees and friends to join in on the challenge. After training hard for several months all were put to the test come race day. The participants enjoyed a nice leisurely stroll down Broad Street starting around Central Catholic High School (Sommerville Ave and Broad) and ending at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. All participants completed the race and are looking forward to next year's competition. And here were the results:
Carl Flack - 1:35:58
Mike Roberts - 1:37:32
Jenn McCloy - 1:41:05
Jeremy Miles - 1:55:53
Gail Mickalonis - 2:15:54
Sean McCarraher - 2:34:24
Paul Giannini - 2:39:48
