| E77 was dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a barn in Limerick Twp. at about 0853 hours. as part of the first alarm assignment with E54, L54, SD51, T51.
DC67 was in the area passing by and he reported "smoke showing". This added a confirmed dispatch procedure of Medic 324, Air 51, E66, T66 and Rescue 86 as the FAST team.
E77 responded and was the second truck on scene and was ordered into the long farm driveway and to go into service with water attack hose lines. L54 crews had forced entry and located the fire. E77 crews then entered and used the hose line to extinguish the fire in the basement.
Tac 77 responded with additional manpower and when they arrived, they puled a hose line off of L54 and entered the upper level of the barn to also extinguish the fire on the D side wall.
The area was then overhauled and units had to back out of the long narrow driveway.
Thanks to the alert caller who noticed the smoke and called 911 or this barn would have been destroyed.
