CO Alarm with Readings in Collegeville and Dumpster Fire in Trappe Borough

Station 34 and Ladder 77 were dispatched to a CO alarm at 702 East Main Street at Ursinus College Lynnwood Hall in Collegeville around 1022 hours. Engine 34, Squad 34, and Ladder 77 arrived and went in service with meters to find the source of the CO. Ladder 77's crew went to the 2nd and 3rd floor to find CO readings, while Engine 34's crew went to the basement and found additional readings. The source was located to be the heater in the basement and crews shut off the heater. PPV Fans were placed in basement and the first floor to vent any carbon monoxide left in the building.

While still on scene, Station 77 and Squad 34 were alerted to a dumpster fire at 741 West Main Street at Bougon's Automotive in Trappe Borough at 1112 hours. Squad 34, and Ladder 77 responded and found a small dumpster on fire approximately 20 feet from the building. Squad 34 pulled a line and extinguished the fire while crews from Engine and Ladder 77 assisted with overhaul. The fire was placed under control 1122 hours.
