Station 77 and Squad 34 were dispatched to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of 7th Ave and West Main Street in Trappe. Pennsylvania State Police arrived and notified the fire department of a one vehicle into a pole at 717 W Main St. Battalion 77 arrived and had Engine 77 establish fire suppression for protection while shutting down West Main Street traffic. Engine 77 also established a safe area due to the high tension lines a top of the severely damaged pole, and PECO was called to the scene.
The operator of the vehicle denied injuries. Stations 77 and 34 fire police had West Main Street shut down until PECO arrived to control traffic. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash. West Main Street was shut down for 10 hours for repairs and was reopened at 0900 hours on 12/26/19.
