Stations 77 and 34 were dispatched to the intersection of Route 113 and W. Main St at 1154 hours for a reported vehicle accident with entrapment. AC83 was on location reporting 3 cars involved with several injuries. EMS added additional units.
Crews arrived to find 3 cars involved with persons trapped in all 3. Chief 34 special called Squad 34 for the added rescue vehicles. Crews went to work freeing the victims.
Fire Police had a lot of work to do because the entire intersection had to be shut down at busy lunch time. Additional Fire Police were requested.
Rescue crews removed all 3 trapped victims and EMS treated and transported 6 patients. One victim was flown to a trauma center and one went by ground.
