| Pottstown Fire Department and numerous other mutual aid departments were dispatched to a building fire near the area of Hanover Street and Chestnut Street, Pottstown Borough at 0622 hours.
The 1st alarm assignment was quickly upgraded to a second alarm when units arrived to a fully involved church on fire.
At 1300 hours, Ladder 77 was requested to assist with a relief crew for fire suppression, and manpower. Ladder 77 responded with a crew of 3 and arrived on the C side of the building to assist with elevated masterstream operations using the main ladder. Crews provided extinguishment for smoldering piles of debris inside the church while keeping safety due to wall collapsing.
At 1930 hours, Station 77 brought additional personal to swap out our crew. Ladder 77 remained on location until they were released at about 2347 hours. and a total of 7 members assisted with the operation.
Traffic 77 and 77 fire police were also dispatched to assist with traffic and crowd control. |
