Ladder 77 was dispatched with Stations 66 & 34 on the original assignment for a house fire at 490 Bridge St in the Birchwood section of Perkiomen Twp. Several calls were received reporting smoke & fire showing. AC66 arrived and confirmed a working house fire and added two more engines (Squad 54 & Engine 86), FAST (Rescue 86), and Cascade (Rescue 53) to the box. AC66 then went into command. Chief 66 arrived shortly and command was transferred.
Ladder 77 responded along with Engine 77. Ladder 77 arrived and had been left room to get to the front of the house in the narrow parking circle (Thank You). Heavy smoke was blowing from the house directly at the ladder crew as they placed the truck and spotted the ladder to the roof. Interior crews made a good knock on the fire and the ladder crew went to the roof cutting several vent holes in the fire building and the exposure house. Some fire spread was seen and the area was overhauled. Crews remained on scene for more overhaul and clean up.
Medic 324 had two units on scene for firefighter Rehab and Station 41 also responded for a Canteen assist. Traffic 77 controlled traffic on Bridge St due to the number of responding vehicles.
