Services Offered by the Division of EMS Community Outreach - CHIP-IN Program CHIP-IN provides resources to our community in need specifically focusing on our oldest and youngest populations. We focus on fall prevention, medication safety, home safety visits and child safety checks . The idea is to reduce the need for access to EMS or the fire department by preventing injury, illness and promoting fire safety. CHIP-IN is a joint effort between Trappe and Limerick Fire Companies, Limerick PD, The Montgomery County Health Dept. and Limerick Township. We are currently looking to expand the program. Any interested parties are welcomed to come to the meetings and learn more. For more information, please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Jennifer McCloy, at jmccloy@trappefire.org. Medical Director 324 Trappe Fire Co #1 is proud to have an active, field-operating physician providing medical direction to the organization. Dr. David Neubert volunteers his time to educate and guide our medical providers in providing the highest quality care to the citizens we serve. Dr. Neubert regularly provides on-site medical direction by responding to 911 calls in our area and literally bringing a “doc to your door.” He is truly an asset to the organization that we feel allows us to provide our communities with some of the best trained, well educated, progressive EMS providers in the area. EMS Strike Teams In recent years, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS has developed a statewide EMS Strike Team program. The State’s goal for the EMS Strike Teams is, “To develop trained, equipped and protected Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance services for mutual aid, intrastate and interstate requests for EMS assistance in responding to catastrophic casualty events. The participating EMS services will be resources allocated for local, regional, state, and national assets to be activated when the current assets have been exhausted.” An EMS Strike Team is made up of two EMTs and two Paramedics capable of providing emergency medical care in austere environments. The Division of EMS at Trappe Fire Co #1 maintains two of these such teams. These providers have extended their training into fields of disaster medicine, weapons of mass destruction, large incident management, advanced hazmat life support, tactical (SWAT) medical support, and urban search and rescue. The Trappe EMS Strike Team completed their first deployment in 2005 by traveling to Louisiana in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Special Event Services The Trappe Fire Co #1 Division of EMS provides standby services to large community events, sporting events, and other large gatherings to ensure the safety of all in attendance. Our services range from providing a single ambulance to a full first aid station capable of handling longer events where medical support is necessary. If you are interested in contacting us regarding our special event services, please call 610-489-2700 or email EMSDivision@trappefire.org. Emergency Medical Services The Division of EMS at Trappe Fire Co #1 staffs two stations 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to provide emergency medical services to Trappe and Collegeville Boroughs and Limerick, Perkiomen, and Upper Providence Townships. Our Main Station is located at 20 W 5th Ave in Trappe Borough and our substation is located at the Limerick Fire Co, 390 W Ridge Pike, Limerick Township. Each station staffs an ambulance with one Emergency Medical Technician and one Paramedic providing advanced life support care to the citizens we serve when they dial 911. In addition to the two ambulances, an on-call supervisor provides support and oversight to our units on large incidents or particularly challenging 911 calls. We constantly strive to bring the highest level of emergency care to do your door.
