At 4:59 p.m. EDT on Monday, March 9, 2020. Trappe Fire Company was dispatched with The Township of Upper Providence Department of Fire and Emergency Services (Engine 93) to a field fire behind 129 Greenwood Avenue in Upper Providence Township.

Upon arrival, Lieutenant 77 found approximately 3/4 of an acre of brush on fire and spreading quickly. Due to the lack of access to the area and the volume of fire, additional units were requested from Perkiomen Fire Company and Limerick Fire Company.

Tac 77 provided initial fire attack with the crew from Engine 93. Field 66 from Perkiomen Fire Company and both Field 51-1 and Field 51-2 from Limerick Fire Company provided fire attack crews and equipment at the scene. Additional assistance was provided on the scene by Upper Providence Township Police Department.

Tanker 66, Engine 77, and Engine 93 established a water supply to support the firefighting efforts with a shuttle between a fire hydrant on Greenwood Avenue and the fire area.

Trappe Fire Company Ambulance 324 responded to the scene to treat a juvenile with a burn to their forearm.

The fire was brought under control with 30 minutes and crews wet down the area to ensure there was no ignition of unburned materials. All units were made available and returned to their stations by 6:30 p.m.
